GPS wishes everyone a safe & enjoyable holiday weekend! 🎉 See you on Tuesday (September 2)!

We hope everyone had an amazing first week back—enjoy the long weekend! See you on Monday (August 25)! 💜💛

📢 Important Reminder: NO SCHOOL this Friday (August 22)! 🎉

Greetings Baldwin Heights!
The kids had an assembly today and we talked about our school-wide expectations of being SAFE, RESPONSIBLE, RESPECTFUL, GOOD LEARNERS! It was awesome and we ended up having a fun competition to kick off the school year.
Be sure to ask your child about BEE-HAVIOR Tickets! Kids can earn tickets for demonstrating correct Bee-haviors tied directly to our school-wide expectations. Kids can then use the ticket sto purchase items from their classroom store. After each store, tickets will go to the media center to be part of our school-wide goal; the building reward choice will rotate by grade level starting with 5th grade! :)
We do realize that these are similar to our buzz cards from last year, but much easier to manage, distribute, and reward students more than weekly drawings. We look forward to having another wonderful year at Baldwin Heights where positive BEE-HAVIOR is the key to success!
Go Jackets!

Baldwin Heights Family!
Open House was a tremendous success and we are grateful for everyone who endured the heat! :)
Couple of quick reminders:
*Students won't be allowed in the building until 8:50am as we don't have supervision until then. Please adjust your morning schedule accordingly as we don't want large groups of students congregating for too long unsupervised. ;)
*Remember that we have a STAGGERED dismissal: Kgn/3rd/5th @ 3:40pm; 1st/2nd/4th @ 3:45pm.

We look forward to seeing you at the Danish Festival this weekend and then to start the year on Monday, Aug 18!

Yesterday, all professional staff and paraprofessionals came together for an important learning session on “Trauma’s Impact on Behavior” — building skills to better support every student.
Here’s to a great school year ahead; we are excited to welcome back students on Monday, August 18!
