The GPS Sinking Fund proposal will not raise your current tax rate. Our debt millage rate is 4.7 mills, but it is scheduled to drop to 3.2 mills this summer. This proposal asks for 1.5 mills, to maintain the 4.7 mills total rate, allowing us to keep our schools safe and equipped with the resources needed while remaining financially stable. Additionally, because the district will not pay interest costs, every dollar will go directly toward benefiting students.

This proposal, "Building Excellence and Securing Tomorrow," will provide $1.6 million per year for the next 10 years to fund critical school improvements. These funds will help ensure that every student has access to safe, warm, dry, and engaging learning spaces.

At Baldwin Heights we are excited to celebrate March is Reading Month! This year’s theme is Read To Succeed! We are focusing on Andrea Beaty's books. One series she is known for is "The Questioneers" (picture books as well as chapter books). These books explore STEM, curiosity, and perseverance. Some careers that are explored are scientists, architects, and illustrators.
