On Monday, November 11 (Veterans Day), Mrs. Mier’s sixth-grade ELA students had the opportunity to meet Senator Rick Outman, who spoke as part of the “Take a Veteran To School Day” program hosted by Spectrum and the History Channel. This national initiative connects veterans from diverse backgrounds with students across the country. Senator Outman, a U.S. Army veteran and member of the Michigan National Guard’s 1073rd Support Maintenance Company in Greenville, shared his experiences and insights, making it a memorable and meaningful learning experience for our students. Spectrum Vice President & Veteran Doug Barrick also spoke to Mrs. Mier's class about his military experience.

Students at GMS have been working on their Educational Development Plans with our district Career & College Navigator Mr. Stump this week. EDPs are “living” documents, updated as student interests and abilities become more obvious and focused. All students must be provided the opportunity to develop an EDP during grade 6, and then time to review and revise every year through grade 12.

Join our incredible team!
