Superintendent of Schools Search 2022

The Greenville Public Schools Board of Education is beginning the task of searching for the District's new Superintendent of Schools due to the recent announcement of retirement from Superintendent Linda Van Houten. Superintendent Van Houten has been employed by Greenville Public Schools for over 38 years and has served as an admirable Superintendent of Schools since 2015.

Information will be posted on this webpage as it becomes available.

The selection process, up to and including the appointment of a new Superintendent, is extremely important to ensure the ongoing success of the District. In addition to the Board of Education, staff and community groups can play a very important role in the search process. The Board will be assisted by the Michigan Leadership Institute during this process. MLI Executive Search Consultant Andy Ingall will lead the search process.

Greenville Public Schools prides itself on excellent collaboration between staff, students, parents, and community members. Few aspects of the educational system are as important as the quality of leadership provided by the Superintendent. The incoming Superintendent will exemplify our core values of Integrity, Collaboration, Compassion, and Responsibility.

The first opportunity for staff, students, and the community to provide input is via a short survey. Please CLICK HERE for a link to the survey. The survey will close on Friday, July 22 at 4:00pm. All input on the survey will be collected anonymously. The Board of Education thanks you in advance for your contribution to this important process.

On Tuesday, July 19, there will be an opportunity for Focus Groups to share their views regarding the qualifications desired in our new superintendent. Mr. Andy Ingall, our MLI Executive Search Consultant, will lead these meetings. In addition, the community will also contribute to developing the district “Points of Pride” which will describe to candidates the advantages of living and working in the Greenville community. There are two different meeting times available for our community members to choose what works best in their schedule.
