Proposed GPS 2022-2023 Budget

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 7:00pm, the Board of Education of Greenville Public Schools will hold a public hearing at the Central Services Facility (located at 1414 Chase Street, Greenville) to consider the District’s proposed 2022-2023 budget. 

The Board may not adopt its proposed 2022-2023 budget until after the public hearing. A copy of the proposed 2022-2023 budget, including the proposed property tax millage rate, is available for public inspection during normal business hours, Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm at the Central Services Facility - located at 1414 Chase Street, Greenville, Michigan.  

The public hearing on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 7:00pm will be held at the Central Services Facility - located at 1414 Chase Street, Greenville, Michigan.  

The property tax millage rate proposed to be levied to support the proposed budget will be a subject of this hearing.

This notice is given by order of the Board of Education.

The proposed budget will be an action item during a Special Board of Education Meeting scheduled for Monday, June 27, 2022 (details below).  

Regular Board of Education Meetings:

Regular Meetings of the Board of Education are generally held on the second Monday of each month at 7:00pm in the Central Services Facility (1414 Chase Street) Community Room.

  • 2021-2022 Board of Education - Regular Meeting Dates: August 9, September 13 (relocated to the GHS Auditorium), October 11 (relocated to the GHS Auditorium), November 8 (relocated to the GHS Auditorium), December 13 (relocated to GMS Cafeteria), January 10 (relocated to GMS Cafeteria), February 14 (relocated to GMS Cafeteria), March 14, April 11, May 9, June 13, and July 11

Special Meetings will be posted (below) as to date, time and place.

Special Board of Education Meeting Notices:

There will be a Special Board Meeting on Monday, June 27, 2022 at 7:00pm at the Central Services Facility (1414 Chase Street, Greenville) for the purpose of adopting the 2022-2023 Budget, 2022 Proposed Tax Levy, and 2021-2022 Final Budget Amendment and any other business necessary.

There will be a Special Board Meeting on Monday, August 1, 2022 from 4:00-8:00pm at the Central Services Facility (1414 Chase Street, Greenville) for the purpose of Board/Administrative Workshop and any other business as necessary.

Meeting Process:

All meetings are open to the public except, in accordance with state statutes, the board meets in closed session to discuss matters of personnel, negotiations, or the purchase of land.

Persons with disabilities who need special accommodations should call the Board of Education Office at 616-754-3686 five (5) days prior to the Board Meeting.

In the agenda, a time is set aside for citizen comments. Generally, questions of fact can be answered at the meeting at which they are raised. Other questions may be referred to the administration for investigation and study, and a reply given by mail or phone at the earliest possible date.

Citizens are encouraged to take concerns directly to the staff person closest to the problem to allow for a timely response.
