Hello Greenville High School! My name is Sam Kaastra and I am your College Advisor for this school year. I graduated from Michigan State University in May of 2021 with a bachelors degree in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy. Which basically means that I can read, write, and research pretty well. My ultimate career goal is to become a high school history teacher and I am currently in a graduate certification program at Davenport University.I am serving with AmeriCorps through the College Advising Corps and the Michigan State University College Advising Corps.

Resource for post-high school needs

I have been placed in the school as a resource for all your post-high school (or post-secondary) needs. I'm here to help students figure out what the next step is after high school, apply for college, find a trade school for your program, fill out the FAFSA, review award letters, navigate scholarship websites, and career exploration. I also try to plan after school workshops, college campus visits, college rep visits, and in-class presentations to help you decide where you want to go next!

While I mostly help seniors and their parents/guardians, I'm more than willing to help all Greenville students and families with any concerns you may have!
