After a lot of careful thought and discussion, the district has decided to cancel the 2020 GPS Block Party, originally scheduled for Wednesday, August 5, 2020.
Given the current situation of uncertainty with COVID-19 and Governor Whitmer’s executive orders and due to health risks amongst large crowds, we believe it is in the best interest of our community to cancel the event. We are truly saddened about this decision, but feel it is the appropriate choice given the uncertainties.
There were several businesses/organizations who had already committed to a monetary sponsorship for the 2020 GPS Block Party. Those listed below decided to forgo their refund opportunity and the money was redirected to the GPS Opportunities for Success fund to help GPS families in need.
Clark Construction - $2,000.00
Greenville Tool & Die Co. - $500.00
Flat River Family Dentistry - $100.00
Shiloh Community Church - $100.00
We also would like to thank the following businesses/organizations for their continued support even though the 2020 GPS Block Party has been canceled.

The Chosen Ones - offering backpacks for students in need for next school year
We are working with The Chosen Ones, a community organization that has provided backpacks and school supplies in the past, on a plan to once again provide these items for any GPS student in need this fall. Stay tuned for more information on this later in the summer.
