Lincoln Heights Welcome!
Welcome to Lincoln Heights…A Michigan Blue Ribbon School! We are very excited and proud that the Michigan Board of Education named Lincoln Heights as a Michigan Blue Ribbon School. Our staff has high student expectations and we offer quality programs for the children at Lincoln Heights Elementary. Students, staff, parents, and community groups that earned this award have joined together in celebration of the Blue Ribbon honor to let people know that Lincoln Heights is a great school. Receiving this award meant that we met the following criteria: Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP), received an “A” in Michigan Department of Ed Yes! Accreditation program, and have in place an anti-bullying program, an acceptable school logo, as well as a wellness program.
We have 498 great students in our Lincoln Heights family in Kindergarten through Fifth grade. Our staff includes 24 full-time teachers, a social worker, and 20 support staff and paraprofessionals. We also have numerous volunteers from the community who help out in classrooms. We offer students a state-of-the-art technology program, an up-to-date curriculum, and special services to those in need.
If childcare is needed before and/or after school, The Children’s Corner is located here in our building and offered from 6:00 to 9:00 am and 3:45 to 6:00 pm.
Our school is located in a rural setting in northern Kent County. Our building has an ample art room, a music room, a spacious gymnasium, computer lab, as well as an early childhood motor skills room. Students read and research in our exemplary media center, with well over 15,000 titles. We participate in the Reading Renaissance program where students read approved books and take tests about what they have read. Each year we set a school-wide goal and reward students with a trip to an exciting destination.
Parents and community members are tremendously supportive. Our parent leaders volunteer countless hours of service working for the students and staff of Lincoln Heights. They organize successful fundraisers to support school activities, provide teachers money for classroom supplies, purchase grade appropriate weekly student newspapers, and fund monthly assemblies. They also organize our annual carnival, participate in the Greenville Christmas Parade, Secret Santa Shop, parent meetings with speakers, and much more!
Our entire team lives our Mission Statement: The Staff of Lincoln Heights shall provide a safe, positive environment where all students achieve academic outcomes, develop a sense of inquiry, and acquire social skills to succeed in an ever-changing world. We take great pride in our school improvement efforts – evidenced by the North Central Association awarding Outcomes Accreditation to our school.
As the principal of Lincoln Heights, I am proud to be part of the team that is so dedicated to education, to Greenville Public Schools, and to the students of Lincoln Heights! Our Junior Jackets continue to Believe and Achieve New Heights.
